The Union Company's steamer Apariroa left for Wellington and the South yesterday with j original cargo from Calcutta. Last nignt the Northern Company's stea- ; mer Terranora left for Whangarei. The Northern Company's steamer Ngapuhi leaves for Whangarei to-night. Yesterday the Northern Company's steamer Waitangi arrived from Whangamata and way ports, and left for the Great Barrier at midnight. The barque Casina war loading copra at Vavau for Europe at the end of December, and was expected to sail about January 3. This morning the Northern Company's steamer Muritai arrives from Tauranga and leaves at 3 p.m. for Parengarenga, Te Kao, 2£ohoura. and Hokianga. Yesterday the German three-masted schooner Samoa was floated into thy Auckland Dock for general overhaul. The barque Mollis was loading copra at Eaapai for Europe at the end of last month. THE MOKOIA. The Union Company's steamet Mokoia left Sydney for Auckland yesterday, and is due on Sunday evening nest. THE TARAWERA. The Unio. Company's steamer Tarawera left Gifcborne for Auckland at 9.30 a.m. yesterday, and should arrive about the same hour to-day. The steamer leaves for East Coast and Southern ports at noon on Saturday. THE TONGARIRO. •■ The New Zealand Shipping Company's steamer Tongariro is advertised to leave Auckland for London direct on the 15th inst. POSTED MISSING. 'Hie following vessels were recently posted "Missing" at Lloyd's:—The Loch Long, of Glasgow, Captain Strachan, New Caledonia to Glasgow, reported to have sailed on April 29. The Polly Preston, of Carnarvon, Captain Nicholas, Bremen to Palnackie, reported to have sailed on September 2. THE KAIPARA. The Registrar-General of Shipping has allotted the signal code letters " YIITF" to the New Zealand Shipping Company's new steamer Kaipara. now outward bound on her maiden voyage from London to Wellington. A DANGEROUS ROCK. Captain Inglis\ harbourmaster at Port Adelaide, has visited Glenelg for the purpose of locating a rock reported to be dangerous to navigation. The rock is situated about half a. mile from the jetty, in a south-westerly direction. It is within 9ft of the surface at low water, the surrounding depth being 15ft. The spot has been buoyed, and it is intended to remove Hip .obstruction by explosives. The rock i« s» i to be right in the track of vessels leaving the jetty on pleasure trips. THE YSABEL. The three masied schooner Ysabel, Captain W. Mr. J. G. Anderson, the purser, - eports: he Hauroto left Sydney at 11.15 p.in on December 15, and arrived at ,Snv:' on the 22nd. Left at midnight <;., lie 25th. reaching Levnka the next morning, and left the same date for Apia, Reached the latter port on the 33th. leaving the next da v. and arrived at Vavau on the 31st.
