BARQUE LOST AT FIJI.

'. Suva, December '7. The Norwegian barque Kalisko, Captain Getmark, was totally' wrecked on November 27, at Matauta Savaii, Samoa, with 1108 tons of copra on board. There arrived by the Manapouri from the Islands on Dec. 9, 10 men of the Norwegian barque Kalisto, which was, wrecked near Savaii, Samoa, on the 27th ult. The crew, on being seen on arrival, state that the vessel wa3 loaded With over 1100 tons of copra for Marseilles, and was all ready for sea, with the anchor lifted. The breeze suddenly dropped, and the vessel was caught in the rollers, and swept up on to the reef. When the wells were sounded at first there were only Sin of water in the holds. The vessel was bumping heavily, and on the wells being again sounded "a few! minutes late! there were 24in in the hold. Soon afterwards it was ascertained that there was no hope of the vessel getting off, and Captain Gel-mark gave orders for the lowering of the boats. The s.s. 01eato 2 of the German Government, picked the men up and took them on to Apia, where the muster, two of the mates, and the carpenter remain, pending an inquiry into the loss of the ship. The officers and crew got away without mishap, and with all their belongings. The ship, after swinging round broadside on to the* reef, gradually filled, and then slowly capsized, settling down into deep water. It is considered impossible to raise the ship or to salve the cargo Immediately on landing in Auckland the men proceeded to the office of the ViceConsul for Sweden and Norway (Mr. .Sydney J. Nathan), and were temporarily assisted and provided with quarters, until arrangements are completed for their return to their native laud,.
