DISTRIBUTION OF PRIZES.
GLENIVBAGH SCHOOL.
The annual exhibition of drawings and needlework by Mrs. Young's pupils was held last Friday afternoon. A large number of parents and friend- were present, who expressed themselves greatly pleased with the result of the year's work. Forty drawings were hung, eaeb showing ? distinct advance in skill and finish, particularly those of the Misses Russell, Howard, Laver, White, and Buchanan. The needlework was greatly admired and pronounced most creditable to teacher and pupil. . A table centre by Miss G. Cave was specially praised lor its ex--1 quisitely fine work. The following young ladies received prizes for first place in routine work in English subjects:—Standard IV., G. Cave Standard TIL, E. Young; Standard 11., M. White; Standard 1., F. Wilson, For first place m arithmetic and algebra: Standard IV., G. Cave; Standard 111., G. Buchanan; Standard ll.'. L. White; Standard 1., D. Edmiston. For highest marks in examinations: Standard TV., M. White; Standard 111., G. Buchanan; Standard 11., L. White. Other prizes lor general improvement were also given. ST. PATRICK'S CON V HIGH ; SCHOOL. The annual distribution of prizes in connection with St. Patrick's Convent High School took place on Monday evening, when His Lordship Bishop Lenihan presided over a large gathering. A choice selection of musical items wa.' contributed by the pupils, under the direction of the Sisters of Mercy, the contributors being as under: Misses Brown (2), Lundon, Locke, M. Sheahau, Tobin, Delaiiunty, K. Meeban, K. MoMaJion, I. O'Connor, "Eraser. Williams, P. O'Connor, A. McDonnell, X. Little, Keenan (2), Kearney, Barber, E. McDonnell, Dyer, Metcalfe, Browne, Davidson, Foiey, Barry, Halstead,' Duifin, Millers, N. Rist, Thode, Knight, Smith. and Mr. H. Biscocks. An address to the Bishop was read by Miss M. Sheahnn, aftecr which His Lordship distributed the prizes, as inkier: —Christian doctrine, Alice Davidson (silver medal) i, Mary Molloy 2; regular attendance, Patricia- O'Connor 1. Richard Dias 2: music, Jessie Smith (gold cross) 1. Eileen Kearney 2; English, Gladys Foley 1, Elizabeth McDonnell 2; composition, Mary Sbeahan 1, Annie Clayton 2; arithmetic, Ethel Barbel 1, Celostine Barry 2; writing, Eva Watts 1, Emily Olarke 2 ; geography, Mabel Metcalfe 1, Violet Jennings 2; science. Kathleen Browne 1, Clara Bryaut 2; needlework, Laura Halstead 1, Violet Johnston '2; kindergarten, Stella Eraser 1, Isla Williams 2. Aggregate marks, Gladys Foley (silver medal) 1; good conduct, May Greenan (silver mod-al) 1. Certificates: Trinity College musical examination—Senior, Eileen McMahon; mtermodiale, Violet Locke: junior, Jessie Smith (honours); Eileen Kearney (honours), Evr Barber (honours), Emily Clarke, Ethel Barber; preparatory, Elizabeth McDonnell, Ethel Keenan, Kathleen Little. Prizes were presented by the Rev. Father Holbrook, die Right Rev. Monsignoi O'Reilly, the Rev. Father Patterson, Messrs. J. Browne, P. Dignan, J. Sbeahan, J. MoDermott, J. Ecoelton, Mrs. J.
