WELLINGTON SEAMEN'S INSTITUTE. The Christmas week issue of the AvcklaniWeekly Nkwb ('Frisco mail number) contains special attractions for all, and will be welcomed by old and young, both at Horn' and abroad. Christmas is a season of jollity and well-wishing all over the world, and tin special coloured Supplement presented with the issue deab with a highly popular subject. The adventures of Santa Olaus in Maoriland, while rather disturbing to the time-honoured personage will bring joy to many a juvenile heart. Christmas in New Zealand is depicted in charming guise, ana midsummer holiday scenes \in Auckland serve to show how the festive season is entered into under our southern summer skies.

The current events of interest in the colony are also fully dealt with, and a special aeries of photographs of the Veterans' Home bazaar, held last week in the Government House Grounds, includes all the principal inoidents at a most successful function. A panoramic view, of the grounds during the dancing and musical drill events conveys a knowledge of the scene by day, and a drawing by the News' special artist of the grounds at night depicts a pleasant scene. Other pictures at the function include Lord Northland effecting a sale in the millinery stall, the principal stalls and attendants, and snapshots of some of the performers at the bazaar.

The Ponsonby Regatta is always a successful water carnival, and the funotion held last Saturday was well up to previous records. Scenes round the flagship during the afternoon include some fine yachting pictures, and convey a knowledge of the beauties of the' harbour on a summer afternoon. All the events of interest at the carnival are well illustrated, including the rowing races, the oicrar and umbrella race, the tub race, the greasy boom competition, and the water tournament.

Numerous other groups, views, and portraits, including Patea's new breakwater, the recent mining fatality at Karangaha.ke, Wellington harbour scenes, and laying the foundation stone for the Wellington Seamen's Institute, together with abundance of high-class letterpress, contribute to a most attractive number, and a publication which for general public interest stands unrivalled in the colonies.

The Weekly News is now issued, and may be obtained from all agents and runners.
