DEVONPORT BOROUGH COUNCIL.

The ordinary meeting of the Devonport Borough Council was held last evening, and was attended by the Deputy-Mayor (Mr. Win. Hundley) and Messrs. J. A. Walker, W. J. W. Pbilson, 0. P. Murdoch, F. E. Mason, 0. C. Dacre, 6. V. Edgeumb?, and 11. Logan, jun.

.Stanley Point Drainage: A letter was received from Dr. Makgill saying that ho had received a telegram from Dr. Masoa to the effect that as regards the drainage of Stanley Point it would be necessary for the Council to mako a fresh application, but it would not bo necessary to send the plans down to Wellington again. An application for approval of the scheme should be forwarded to tho Auckland office, whence it would bo transmitted to Wellington. The matter was referred to the Streets and Works Committee with power to act. Road at Stanley Point: Mr. H. H. Metcalfe wrote enclosing a plan for the Council's approval of the proponed alteration in the road on Mr. D. R. Caldwell's property at Stanley Point. The plan was referred to tho Streets and Works Committee.

Tar The foreman of works recommended that the usual annual supply of 10,000 gallons of tar be purchased for use on the borough's footpaths. This was agreed to.
