At Oponoui the steamer was met by a large crowd of residents, including Mr. John Webster, at whose invitation the whole of the party by the steamer visited his residence and were hospitably entertained by Mr., Mrs., and Miss Webster. The steamer then proceeded on to Koutu, a new settlement on the river, and thence on to Rawene, where she remains for the night. A dinner to Mr. Webster and residents will ua held on the Rarawa to-night, followed by a dance on shore,' given to the Rarawa visitors by the resi- | ients. The steamer leaves for Onehunga at noon to-morrow, and arrives at Onehunga on Thursday morning. The new steamer and the visitors have been accorded a most enthusiastic reception.
