The Westminster Abbey Glee and Concert Party will give throe concerts, commencing on Tuesday next, at the Opera House. IMS combination has just concluded a tour oi over six months in Australia, where nuicn populai enthusiasm »vas aroused. The boxplan will be opened at Wildman, Lyeil. and Arev's on Friday morning. Miss Edge* will give the fourth of her series of lectures in the Federal clubroom this evening, entitled " Christ, and the Atonement." The Helping Hand Mission notify in another column that they have been Unable to complete arrangements in time to commence their new work in His Majesty's Theatre on Sunday next, as previously advised. because of this they have arranged to hold their eighteenth anniversary . gathering in the Choral Hall on Sunday and Monday next. About 300 scholars of the Mission school will sing at each service, assisted by a strong choir and orchestra. At the annuaUsbcial gathering on Monday night Sister Kenneth and other workers will give reports on the religious, philanthropic, and social work of'the mission, while others interested in social reform work will address the meeting. _ A large gathering is anticipated. The on ; day meeting will be preceded by a tea. Full particulars will he seen in our advertising columns. Chess-players and all who are interested in the game are invited to take part in a return match, Smokers v. Non-smokers, at the Auckland Chess Clubroom, His Majesty's Arcade, on Thursday. The drawing of W. A. Bollard's art union will take place at Mr. T. Ussher's office, 194 Queen-street, on Saturday at ten a.m. The usual monthly meeting of the Liberal and Labour Federation will be held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Cook-street, to-night. There will be an open meeting, with a paper by Mr. T. Gresham on " The Importance of Effecting *> Clo&ei Union Between Liberalism and Labour."
