On October 28, at half-past ten a.m., ere will be a choral celebration of the Holy Communion in the Cathedral, the preacher being the Rev. W. Realty, M.A., vicar of St. Mark's, Remucra. The music will be by. Merhecko (16th century). The Cat hoc rat choir will be augmented, and the organist of the Cathedral (Dr. Thomas) will bo in charge of tho musical arrangement-. At three p.m. on the saute day the first session of Synod will ho held, when the Bishop of the diocese delivers his charge. On October 29 and 50 and November 2, 3, and 4 committees sit. as required, during forenoons. Unless otherwise ordered, Synod is in session daily from four to six p.m. and from seven to ten p.m. The place of meeting for tho Synod will be St. Paul's school.

Arrangements have also been made f< r a. number of meeting.-* apart from the actual proceedings of the Synod. The Bishop will hold a number of separate conferences, ineluding meetings wit! the clergy, laymen, and layreaders, and there'will'be a mass meeting for men on October ol and for women on, November 4. On the evening of October 28 the lay members of Synod resident, in or near the city will entertain Mm Syuoci to, dinner at the Grand Hotel. All the conferences will be of a private character for counsel between the Bishop and the -people vifch. whom the conferences are held. Such people' are therefore invited to bring: forward matters connected with the diocese and their' work for consideration with their diocsan. and one another. The following are. entitled and are requested to attend the various conferences:—Laity: (a) Synodsmcn, (b) registered members.on parochial list, (c) churchwardens, (d) vestrymen, (e) members of a church committee, (f) gentlemen engaged in other departments of church work. ' Layreaders: All diocesan, parochial, and ::-emporary readers, licensed or unlicensed, and also gentlemen who occasionally take the j;er- . vious. G.F.S.: (a) Associates and ether workers m recognised branches, (b) ladieii desirous to know further about G.F.S. work (o) communicants interested in the we fare of girls. Mr. T. Gresham has given notice of hi; intention, to move at the Synod: "That in' the opinion of this Synod it is just and desirable that a. Bill should bo introduced this session to amend title B, canon 5, in such manner as to provide that women., as well ma men may vote at parish meetings." '
