On Wednesday avening a most enjoyable social was held in the Public Hall. Ohaupo. The good cause for which it was held secured a large attendance ;in spite of the weather being somewhat unfavourable. The funds are to be devoted to the Catholic Church. Mr. J. T. Edwards presided. The programme consisted of songs, recitations, and dancing. The Rev. Father O'Oarroll contributed several items on his granha-phona. Refreshments were provided by the committee. Dancing was kept up till oine o'clock.
