'f ho following telegram was received yestor- | day by Mr. P. Virtue from the Premier: — " Owing to combative feeling abroad boxinggloves are at a premium, and members! are at Inndow exercises. Betting slightly in favour of the 'old 'ur> from the South Island.—it. J SBDDON." Mr. Virtue replied as follows: -"Hon. Section, Wellington. . Sandow exercises too violent for 'old 'un; will only start his rivets. Get trainer to put him on rolled oats, allowing combustion chamber to do it« work, and lubricating with Highland cream.— ' Virtue." Mr. Virtue also sent the following message yesterday to Mr. E. W. Alison, M.H.K.:—"Betting market Harding; stick to rolled oat and the paths of Virtue and you : will be triumphant.— For influenza and cold .in the ; head, take Woods' Great Peppermint Cure, Is 6d and ■•■ 2» fid. ■ r . .
