Home, June 18. Yesterday was the best day since the beginning of the critical stage 01 the Pope's illness, and the rally may continue for some time. The pa- ; tient's functions are regular, tnougn somewhat restricted. He has partaken of meat essence. A bulletin last evening stated tliac the patient passed a faWy quiet day and slept at'intervals. His condition was slightly depressed, but respiration was less superficial. . Later intelligence states that Dr. Lapponi considers the Pope to be out of imminent danger. .Dr. Mazzoni, on being interviewed, stated that the Pope had entirely recovered except for slight traces of irritation and pleuritic secretions, which were diminishing. _ The Pope' allowed Br.
