AN APPEAL UPHELD. [>Y TEI/EGKU'TT —■ lIXSS ASSOCIATION.] Wkij.ington, Saturday. The judges appointed by the New Zealand Racing Conference to hear the appeal of J. Christie against the decision of the Greymouth and Reefton Clubs, disqualifying tha liorso Killarney for the hurdle race run at Reefton on March 27, have come to a eonelusion on the ntatter. They disallowed the technical objections to the appeal, and find that the rules w-.ieh prevent the entry or running of a horse while the owner is ou the unpaid forfeit list cannot be extended or interpreted so as to require or authorise the striking of such horse'out of a race bocause at the time when some intermediate payment falls due the owner is in the unpaid forfeit list. The judges allow the appeal, and direct the Ileefton Club to pay the stake in the race to the owner of Killarney. A Melbourne cablegram to hand states that the stallion Maluolio is dead. Malvolio, who was a son of Malua, won the Melbourne (hip of 1891 in the colours of his breeder, Mr. James Redfearn.
