A remarkable suit for a declaration to nullify a marriage was begun in the Brisbane Supreme Court lately. The petition of Sarah Levy set out that in October last, when a minor, she went through the ceremony of marriage with George Ward Massey owing to defendant's threats. The petitioner, in her evidence, said that defendant boarded at hei mother's house, and told her she must marry him, or he would blow her brains out. On several occasions he drew a revolver half out of his pocket, and threatened her. She filled in a form stating she was 21, and on going a message one day met defendant and got married. Defendant had said his reason for compelling her to marry him was to be revenged on her mother. Petitioner said she had never lived with defendant. She fainted in-Court at the conclusion of her evidence.
