London, May 11. The subscriptions for the Transvaal loan closed on Saturday, and the loan was afterwards quoted at a premium of £l 7s 6d. The Bank of England supplied the market with £25,000,000 for loan purposes. The Standard states that there were 150,000 applications, amounting to £1,000,000,000 sterling. (Received May 12, 11.14 p.m.) London, May 12. There were 115,400 applications, totalling £1,174,000,000 for the Transvaal loan. The allotments will be posted this evening. One firm applied for the whole loan, and others for huge amounts, but are unlikely to receive more than 2 per cent.
