" 1 would rather see them now," remarked M. Loydet, for I believe that your brother personated them.'' At this Mme. Humbert laughed so loudly that the magistrate called her to order. "What do I care for you'/" she retorted, becoming suddenly excited, "not a snap for anything you may think. I have to answer to public opinion, not to von." This put an end to the "interview, and sne was again conducted to her cell.
