MISSING ENGLISH GIRL.
A letter was received in Chesterfield recently by the relatives of the English girl. Miss Rose Whalley. who. together with a young lady friend, mysteriously disappeared at Moscow some weeks ago.
The family are well known in Chesterfield and the neighbourhood. Mr. Whalley acting as the Moscow representative of Messrs. Fletcher and Co.. one of the prin-ci-al lace manufacturers in Derbyshire. It would appear that Miss Whalley has not yet been discovered, although a thorough search had been made at the monastery into which it is said she was enticed.
The letter adds that every assistance is being afforded Mr. Whalley by the authorities, but no due as to her whereabouts is discoverable. It is thought that the girl may have been taken on one of the river baits by her captors and murdered and thrown into the river.
