VOLUNTEERING NEWS.
THE EASTER ENCAMPMENT. The infantry, artillery, and mounted rifle corps forming the Auckland volunteer garrison go into camp of instruction at Castor Oil Bay, Takapuna, this evening, the infantry corps for four days and the remainder for one week. It is the intention of the officer commanding the district (Colonel Davies) to put the men through a course of instruction on active service conditions, and much good should result. The greater part of Friday and Saturday will be devoted to reconnoitring, scouting, etc., and on Sunday there will bo a church parade. On Easter Monday the men will be given an opportunity to show to what extent, they have benefited as a result of the nrst two dayj' instruction, as on that day a mimic battle will be fought. Colonel Davies will act as umpire.
