AUCKLAND RACING CLUB'S AUTUMN MEETING. The straight-out business at present being transacted on the Easter Handicap is of a very mild character. Wairiki holds his position firmly at 3 to 1, but that price has not been taken to any noteworthy amount. Bar Wairiki, 5 to 1 can be. obtained, and Strathavon probably rules as second favourite. On the double— Handicap and Hurdle Race — to 1 is quoted about Wairiki and Lingard and Wairiki and Inchcape. A wager of 500 to 15 was yesterday accepted about Heroism and Awahuri. The weather at New Plymouth was so boisterous on Friday night that it was decided to postpone shipping Heroism, to Auckland. It is expected that the colt will arrive to-day by the s.s. Ngapuhi. Mr. E. J. Watt's two-year-old colt Melodeon was last week entrained to Palmerston North, where he was taken charge of by J. H. Prosser, who will bring him on to Auckland with a view to contesting the Northern Champagne Stakes. OKOROIRE RACES.
