The hills and land at the back of the Wakapnaka cable station, at Cable Bay, are being surveyed, and it is intended to make a reserve there for the cable station. The hills in this vicinity (says the Nelson Mail) comprise the water supply area foi the station, and it is intended by the Government to purchase and reserve close on 200 acres, with the idea of looking after the supply of water as well as making a picturesque reserve. The Southland members of the Sixth Contingent tc South Africa have decided to hold a reunion on Good Friday at Winton, the gathering to take tie form of general sports and horseracing on the Winton racecourse.
