'■ * DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY. There will be a change of programme tonight at the City Hall, when Mr. Frank Gra•'ham, the eminent English tenor; Miss Emmie Smith, the popular singer of coon melodies; Mr. Frank Yorke, the well-known comedian; the Sisters Smith, brilliant youngdancers; the Sisters Gilardi, clever duettists, and the other members of the company will all appear in new items. AUCKLAND DISTRICT LAW SOCIETY. The annual 'meeting of the Auckland Dis- „ trict Law Society was held yesterday afternoon at'the Magistrate's Courthouse. Mr. Thos. Cotter presided, and the attendance was large. The annual report showed that , the society had a membership of 62 out of i 123 practising in the district. The financial • statement showed a credit balance of £1248 17s Bd, and both this statement and the annual report were adopted. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—President, Mr. Thos. Cotter; vicepresident, Mr. F. Earl; council, Messrs. S. Hesketh, F. E. Baume, C. E. Button, C. E. Purchas, C. J. Parr, J. R. Reed, J. W. Stewart; treasurer, Mr. J. W. Stewart; audir tor, .Mr. C. E. S. Gillies. Representatives on the New Zealand Law Society, Messrs. F. E. Baume and 11. Campbell. A vote of thanks to Mr. C. E. Button for his services :» for many years past as representative of the . , Auckland branch in the New Zealand Law Society, concluded the business. ' OLD THAMES BOYS' ASSOCIATION. , „• •At a largely-attended meeting of old Thames "boys," presided over by Mr. Wm. -Blomfield, held ft the Waitemata Hotel last evening, it was decided to form an association, to be called the Old Thames Boys' Association. A committee, consisting of Messrs. >: Wm. Blojafield, W. Eddowes, J. Endean, sen.,' B. Myers, R. McGregor, C. Morgan, and A. E. Greenslade, was appointed to draw ' up rules, , etc., and - submit same for con-' sideration to a general meeting, to be held on the 20th inst. - Mr.' Arthur E.;' .Greent Blade, was appointed secretary pro tem., :to , whom names of i intending members ? should " be forwarded.
