The total wheat, and flour afloat for the United Kingdom is 2,405,000 quarters, and for the Continent 855,000 quarters. Bank Shares: Unchanged. AGENT-GENERAL'S CABLE, [ny telegraph.press association.] Wellington, Wednesday. The following cable has been received by the Department of Industries and Commerce from the Agent-Goncral, dated London, February 10: — "Importations of frozen mutton from the Argentine into the United Kingdom during the month of January were 256,294 carcases, of which 190,709 were landed at Liverpool, 44,253 at London, 6526 at Cardiff, 8006 at Hull, and 6800 at Newcastle. The average price realised was 4{d per. lb. 24,802 carcases of lamb were imported, of which 12.4 carcases wore landed at Liverpool, 8069 at London, 2000 at Cardiff, 1200 at Hull, and 1046 at Newcastle. The average price realised was sid per lb. " The quantitv of butter imported from the Argentine into the United Kingdom during January was 11,717cwt, which was landed at the ports of Liverpool and London. The average price realised was 102s per cwt." Tho Agent-General advises that heavv entries of crossbred wool are anticipated for the March sales. Tho prospects of the market are very uncertain, depending to a great extent on the conditions of the trade in the meantime and what stocks are held. ' PRODUCE MARKET. „ . „ , DUNEDIN, Wednesday. Oats: he market is quiet. Prime milling. 2s 5d to 28 6d; good to best feed. 2s 3d to 2s 4d; medium, 2s to 2b 2d; inferior, Is 6d to Is lOd bushel (sacks extra). ■ Wheat: The market is quiet. Only prime lines of milling met with inquiry. Prime milling velvet, 5s to 5s 6d; medium, 4s 6d to 4s lid; whole fowl wheat, 4s to 4s Id; broken and damaged, 3s to 3s 9d bushel (sacks extra). Potatoes: The market is over-supplied. Good. £4 108 to £4 15s; medium, £3 10s to £3 15s ton (sacks in). Chaff: Prime oaten sheaf, £4 5s to £4 15s; medium to good. £3 10s to £4; inferior, £2 5s to £3 5s ton (bags extra). ADDTNGTON STOCK MARKET. , ± . ~ CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. At Addington market in fat cattle 125 head were yarded. Prime beef sorts were rather easier than at the previous sale. Steers, £7 5b to £11; heifers, £6 to £9 2s; extra good. £10; cows. £6 10s to £8 15s; extra good, £9 ss; beef extra good, £9 ss: beef, 22s to 25s per 1001b. Store and dairy cattle: A fair yarding met with poor demand, and prices suffered in consequence. Fat sheep: A fair yarding, including several North Island lines, met. with very pool demand. Prices were lower till round, and there was a substantial drop, amounting to from 2» to 2s 6d in the case of medium and inferior sorts. Freezing wethers realised from 16s 6d to 18s Id- unfinished wethers and ewes, 13s 6d to 15s; best butchers ewes. 14s 6d to 17s: six extra heavy, 19s; medium, from 12g 6d tc Ms; others 9ft 6d to 23 ' Fat lambs ,'.
