BURGLARS AGAIN AT WORK.
TWO MEN ARRESTED.
Ok {"Saturday Detectives Mcllveney and McMahon arrested two men, named George Vernon Aimer and Thos. Andrew Conn, on the charge that they did, on February 6, at Auckland, break and enter the premises of Jaa. Oahill, and steal therefrom the sum of £58 17s 2d, the moneys of the said Jas. Cahill. Conn will be further charged with receiving the sum mentioned from Oeof'ge Vernon Aimer, well knowing the same to have been dishonestly obtained.
It appears that between the hours of the closing of Mr. Jas. Cabin's auction mart, in the old City Market Buildings, and Saturday morning, the premises were broken Into* and the sum mentioned extracted from the safe. The thieves had evidently had an eye on the place, and had prepared matters for a coup on the night after the most important sale of the week (oft market day), as the safe was in no way tampered with, one or other of the thieves having in his possession a key to fit the lock.
