To this Sandow retorted in the following terms:—"Your wire is objectionable and impertinent, and worthy the slave of an unfair departmental. system. 1 ha-ve never refused to pay. New Zealand is a charming country, but its legislation, as evidenced by your department, will assist in making your colony ridiculous." •;
