ONE-TREE HILL ROAD BOARD.
» A SPECIAL meeting ot the One-tree Hill Road Board was held last evening in the Newmarket Hall. There were present:— H. B. Morton (chairman), E. W. Burton, Robert Hall, and the Hon. H. deß. Devereux. With ■ reference to certain claims made by ratepayers for compensation for damage done to their property frontages by the progress of the tramway constructien works through the district, the matter was referred to the Board's solicitors for legal advice as to their liability. By-laws framed to take effect withit the district were confirmed and adopted, a special order for the purpose of providing interest and othe. charges on a loan of JSICOO authorised to lie raised foi remaking about 1J miles of Manukau Road from Auckland to Onehunga, was confirmed, and a special rate of one-twentieth of a penny in the £ on all ratable property in the district was struck, such rate to be an annual recurring rate during the currency of the loan, and to lie payable half-yearly on the first, days of April and Octobor in each -yea*, foi «. term of 41 years.;'
