ACCIDENTS AT WAIHI.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN COBBfiSPONIIENT.] Waiht, Wednesday. Two painful and distressing accidents occurred at the Waihi Company's battery yesterday. Two men, named Strom and Donnelly, were engaged screwing or Tinscrewing' one of the heavy filter presses nsed in the wet-crushing process, when the accidents took place, occurring within a minute or two of each other. Strom, the first injured, got his , left hand jammed bet'veen the pin-wheel, and the cog-wheel, completely severing the tops of the middle and third fingers, and splitting the forefinger down to the first "joint. His companion Connelly saw the accident, and a few minutes later got his hand jammed in a similar manner, the cog inflicting almost precisely the same injuries, with the difference that one of the fingers was severed below the first joint. Both men are being attended by Dr. Gttlhuess.
