' Waihis were done at £5 4s 6d, and Waihi Souths at 9£d. Crowns had ; sellers ,at lis 6d, buyers lis. Waitekauris were looked for at 2s 9d, sellers 3s 2d. Bunker's Hills were firmer, sales being effected at 4s lid, ss, and 5s Id, with late buyers at ss, sellers 5s 2d. Hauraki Freeholds had sale at lOd. CO.; The Bunker's Hill Gold Mining Company have let a contract to Mr. Judd, Thames, for the removal and re-erection of the Blagrove's pumping plant at the Hauraki shaft for use by the company. ' THAMES DRAINAGE BOARD. A special meeting of the Thames Drainage Board was held in the office of the secretary (Mr. J. W. Nichol) yesterday, Mr. J. M. Lennox presiding. There were also present :—Messrs. S. Hesketh, S. C. ; Macky, R: Green, S. Paull, J. Trembath, and J. R. Gray.. ;-. "■' ■ The Chairman stated that the meeting was called to consider. the question of arrears due bv the Thames Hauraki, May Queen Hauraki, and New Moanataiari Gold Mining Companies. He was sorry to say that Mr. Harris, attorney for the Thames Hauraki Company, had not received a favourable reply to his cable Home. He had, however, written a letter fully explanatory of the present position which should reach the person with whom negotiations were proceeding about December 21, and this might receive a more favourable reply. Mr. Harris had asked him to thank the Board for their forbearance in the past, and had said he could ask no further concessions from them. He (the chairman) could see no option but to enforce their claims, as they needed money to pay their debts. , ' After a discussion it was resolved, on the motion of the chairman, seconded by Mr. Green, "That the Board!s solicitor be instructed to take summary action against the Thames Hauraki Company for the collection of arrears, Mr. Harris to be advised of the Board's decision." It was further agreed that the action in question should be deferred until after the 22nd inst., to allow of Mr. Harris' letter to reach Home. After the meeting the chairman: and Messrs. Hesketh, Trembath, and Paull were deputed to wait upon the Minister for Mines,. and notify him of the Board's decision in the matter. -v v No action was taken with regard to the May Queen Hauraki and New Moanataiari Gold Mining Companies' arrears. •

S. Bush, Warden:— McLoughbn, Poor Man special claim at Maratoto; Chas. Goulton, business site, part of section 25, Komata; Mary Goulton, residence site, section 28, Komata; Chas. Goulton, residence site, section 25, Komata; John Kemp, residence site, Karangahako; Chas. . Franklin five kauri trees at Waitawheta; Charles Taylor, business site, Karangahake; C. H. Lucas, residence site, Karangahake; T. Turner, residence site, Karangahake; W. Bndson, residenco site, Karangahake; Jane Kearse, residence site, section 128, Waitekaun. Protection was granted as follows:—W. Tregoweth, six months' - protection for Comstock United special claim, Karangahake; Hikutaia Gold Syndicate, six months protection, Payrock Consolidated and. Maratoto Consolidated special claims. Mr. Roche, the company's manager, stated that over £17,000 had been spent in developing the properties. Rising Sun Gold Mining Company, permission to work the Rising Sun special claim at Owharoa, with two men for six months. .

TRIBUTERS. [BY TEIiEGRjVPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] , Coromandel, Wednesday. The Bay View Tributers, Messrs. Daldy and Verry, have completed a crushing aij the Success battery of 12 tons of general dirt and 41b of picked stone, for a return, of 550z of melted gold, valued at £150. Messrs. Hornibrook and party, who have the Hauraki tip tribute, have completed a crushing at the Hauraki battery of a parcel of dirt from the tip for a return of 390z 13dwt of melted gold, valued at £,3 Is 9d per ounce, equal to £121 Os 9d. v Most of the tributers are cleaning up this week, and several of the parties have good returns to show for their work.
