With regard to Mr. Richardson there is a prevailing impression that as he is not on tlie roll he is not eligible for nomination. Section 17 of the Electoral Act provides that any person duly qualified as an elector, and who has been registered on any electoral roll, but whoso name has become removed ' from such roll through no fault of his own, shall not by reason only of not being registered as an elector be disqualified from becoming a candidate and being elected for any electoral district; but in every such case he shall send to the returning officer at the time when he sends his consent *' to bo nominated, a statutory declaration to the effect that he is not disqualified as an elector for the district in respect whereof he was previously registered, under the provisions of the Act, or any other Act; that lie still retains such qualification, and that his name has been removed from the roll of the aforesaid district through no fault of his own. THE ROLLS. Tlio final supplementary rolls for Auckland, Grey Lynn, Parnell and Eden will all be available this afternoon at the registrar's office. The orders of the Revision Court as respects certain transfers for both the City and Grey Lynn electorates will also be found at the end of the rolls. The total number on the roll for the City cf Auckland is 20,429. There are also considerable increases in the other electorates. The registrar is now preparing a complete list of all erasures in the different electorates, and these will appear in Saturday's Herald. This list will be of great assistance to everyone interested in the elections, and will save both inconvenience and delay in the different polling booths next Tuesday.

CITY OF AUCKLAND. Messrs. A. Rosser and J. »Fawcus, the Labour candidates for Auckland City, addressed the workers at Messrs. A. Clark and Sons' factory 'at th%j lunch hour yesterday. Both candidates were listened to with interest, and were accorded a vote of thanks. Yesterday, at the dinner hour, Mr. R. French addressed the workers at the social hall of the Kauri Timber Company. Mr. White presided. The candidate the importance of economy in the finances of the country, and settlement on the land. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr.' French, who was requested to come back | on Friday and speak on the no-license question. Mr. Richardson addressed the electors at ; St. Benedict's Hall yesterday evening. Mr. McDonald occupied the chair. The hall was filled. Mr. Richardson spoke for nearly two hours, and was accorded a good hearing. He dealt with the questions of prohibition, encouragement of local industries, better treatment of drunkards, and many other questions. At the conclusion of his address, after answering many questions, he received a unanimous vote of confidence. Mr. R. French addressed a meeting cf electors in St. James' Hall last evening. Mr. A. J. Entrican presided and there whs a fair attendance. The candidate spoke on a large number of questions. He declared himself an independent candidate, and said it was very necessary that men who were not afraid to criticise the Government should be returned to Parliament. At the conclusion of the address a number of questions were answered, and on the motion of Mr. Harrop, seconded by Mr. T. TV. Jones, Mr. French was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr. W. J. Napier addressed a well-at-tended meeting of the electors in the Grafton Road public school last evening. Mr. C. Atterbury presided. Mr. Napier spoke for an hour and a-half in defence of the Government policy, after which lie" answered a number of questions. On the motion of Mr. J. Collins, seconded by Mr. Spooner, a vote of thanks and continued confidence in Mr. Napier was carried unanimously with cheers. Mr. Napier addressed the employees of the Cou-rins and Atkin factory 'and adjacent warehouses yesterday from twelve to one o.'cloc-k, and received an enthusiastic reception. Mr. Napier^ also addressed a meeting of ladies in the Poufonbv Hall yesterday afternoon at three o'clock, and was cordially received. A very • Largely-attended meeting; of Mr. F. E. Baume's committee was held in the Federal Club rooms last evening, when Mr. W. A. Thompson presided. GREY LYNN. Mr. T. T. Masefield addressed the employees at Colo's Boot Factory, Eden Terrace, at the lunch hour yesterday. Mr. Mascfield was well received, and a hearty voto of thanks and confidence in him as a fit and proper person to represent Grey Lynn at Wellington was given to the candidate. EDEN ELECTORATE. Mi. P. E. Cheal will address the electors of Eden in the Free Methodist schoolroom, Mount Eden Road, opposite Cucksey's store, this (Wednesday) evening. WAITEMATA. Mr. Hatfield addressed a very representative audience at Tarry's Hall, Northcote, yesterday evening, and met with a hearty reception. Mr. Bruce occupied the chair. The candidate's address was on the same lines as previously given in the various centres. _ Mr. Thomas moved a vote of thanks and entire confidence in' Mr. Hatfield as a representative in Parliament for Waitemata. Mr. Miller moved as an amendment a vote of thanks only. The motion was carried by an overwhelming majority, and the meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the chairman. Mr. E. W. Alison addressed the electors at Birkdale in the schoolroom on Friday evening. • Mr. Alison was very well received and frequently applauded, and on the motion of Mr. J. Brook, seconded by Mr. Fitness, was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Mr. E. W. Alison addressed the electors in the Town Hall, Puhoi, on Thursday evening, November 6. There was a good attendance. Mr. Robert Scriven was voted to the chair. At the close of the address several questions were asked and answered, and a vote of thanks and confidence was passed. WAIKATO. On Monday evening Mr. Lang addressed a meeting at Whatawhata. The hall was well filled and included in the audience' were a good number of ladies. He was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence. Mr. Greenslade addressed tho electors at Raglan on Tuesday evening. There was a good attendance. At the conclusion of the address he was accorded a vote of thanks' and confidence. On Monday evening the Ngaruawahia branch of the Waikato Farmers' Club passed a resolution all but unanimously, favouring Mr. Lang's candidature lor the Waikato seat. Mr. Lang addressed the electors at Tc Rau-a-Moa on Friday evening. The school was crowded. Mr. G. T. Harris presided. A vote of thanks and confidence was carried unanimously. Mr. Lang addressed the electors at Pirongia on Saturday. There was a very large gathering. A vote of thanks and confidence was passed. 1 A vote of thanks and confidence was also accorded to Mr. Lang at Ruapuke. F. W. Lang addressed the electors at Kav.hia on Thursday evening and had a, good reception. The usual vote of thanks and confidence was carried. ' KAIPARA.

Mr. A. E. Harding addressed the electors at ' Kailm on Tuesday of last week, about 180 attending. Mr. Harding received a splendid reception, answered a considerable number of questions to the satisfaction of the meeting, and it broke up with three cheers for the candidate. On Wednesday evening he addressed the electors at Dargaville, 300 attending, and spoke for'fully two hours !to an attentive audience. He received at the conclusion a vote of thanks. On Thursday he met the electors at Graham's Fern, 25 attending. Mr. Harding received a vole of thanks. Also the same day he met the electors at Tangowahine, 40 attending, and was accorded a vote of thanks and confidence with groat applause. ill*. Thos. Bassett addressed the electors at Raupo on November 13. A large number of electors were present. Mr. G. V. Hooper was voted to the chair. Mr. Bassett spoke for more than an hour. At the conclusion of the address questions wore answered. What added to the interest of the meeting was a somewhat animated discussion between the candidate and Mr. Richard Monk.. Both gentlemen maintained the best of good feeling and supplied their audience with food for reflection. A vote of thanks, was accorded to Mr. Bassett.

There was a large attendance, a good many ladies being present. Mr. MoEwan, county chairman, presided. At the conclu,si on of the address Mr. W. Moore proposed. and Mr. Harrison seconded, a vote of thanks to Mr. Lucas, ,vhieh was carried. The Hon. Jas. McGowan returned to Coromandel yesterday evening after a' trip to the Bay and Opitonui, Kuaotunu, Mercury Bay and Gumtown. At each place he received a unanimous vote of confidence. OHINEMURI. Paekoa, Tuesday. Mr. Moss has just returned from.an extended tour embracing Koou, Turua Netherton, Golden Cross, and Hikutaia, He has been very favourably received. BAY OF ISLANDS. Kaeo, Tuesday. The Farmers' Union ballot was declared last night, a.s follows: —Glass, 320; Johnson, 218; Houston, 55. It is now a contest between Mr. Houston and Mr. Glass. . „ BAY OF PLENTY. Mr. W. 11. Herries addressed the settlers of Pongakawa and surrounding districts on the 11th inst., when there was a very good attendance. Mr. T. N. Diprose was voted to the chair. Mr. Herries spoke in a very able manner for about two hours, when questions wore invited and answered, after which Mr. .T. J. Rvburu proposed a hearty vote of thanks to Mr. Herries for his address. Tauranga, Tuesday, Messrs. William Herbert Herries. Charles Jordan, David Lundon, and John Ede Taylor were nominated to-day. Mr. Herries' meeting last night was one of the greatest political meetings ever held here. The hall was crowded, and Mr. Herries carried the meeting with him. A vote of thanks was amended by a vote of confidence, which was carricd unanimously. Three rousing cheers for Mr. Herries ended a most popular and interesting meeting. MARSDEN. Whangahei, Tuesday. The following branches of the Farmers' Union have unanimously adopted Mr. Mander as their Candida: —Manugakaramea, Waikiekie, Matakana, To Arai, Warkworth, and Kaipara Flats.
