THREE DAYS IN THE BUSH.
A MAORI WOMAN'S TRYING EXPERIENCE. [BY TELEGRAPH. ASSOCIATION'.] Wairoa (H. 8.), Friday. A Maori woman had a perilous experience at the end of last week. She was going from Lake Waikaremoana to Ruatahuna, in the Urewera Country, a distance of 20 miles, through a rugged bush district, when a heavy snowstorm set in. She had an infant with her. Slie made way into a sheltered place in. the bush, where she remained for nearly three days without lire or food. When she reached Ruatahuna she was almost dead with cold and exhaustion. She had, however, shielded the baby so well that it did not suffer.* The woman has now recovered.
