H.M.S. TERRIBLE.

By Telegraph.—Press Association.— London, September 19. The warship Terrible has arrived at Portsmouth. Her return was greeted by tremendous enthusiasm.

The Terrible has returned to Portsmouth from service on the China station. The warship is a twin-screw cruiser of the first* class, is of 14,200 tons displacement, and 25 000 horse-power, with a speed of 22.4 knots. The Terrible put up a coaling record at Hongkong at the end of April last, when she took on board 2500 tons in 9h. 10m. This splendid record was, however, beaten by the Terrible at Singapore on August 5, when 1548 tons were taken on board in sh. 27m.
