SYDNEY FAT STOCK SALES.

CATTLE ADVANCING. RECORD PRICE FOR A BULLOCK. By TsUsraph — Association.— (Received September IS, 0.25 a.m.) , SrDN'EY, September 15. The fat stock sales included some New Zealand drafts. Wethers ranged from 21s 3d to 36s 3d, ewes from 25s 3d to 27s 6d. Two of Sicole's bullocks sold at £32 10s (the record) and £29. The prices for sheep were well maintained. Cattle were slightly in. advance.

The Huddart-Parker steamer Zcalandia, which left for Sydney last night, took from this port 398 sheep and 40 head of cattle for sale in the stock markets. In addition, the steamer had 90 carcases frozen mutton and! 23 quarters frozen beef from Lyttelton. The Sydney Morning Herald of Tuesday: last says:—There was no marked change in. values yesterday at the metropolitan fat' stock saleyaids. Over 1600 prime and boa.vy[ crossbreds were forward from New Zealand, but there was not the keen demand for them in yesterday's market that there was during the colder weather, when fat sheep were in great request. The general average quality of the merinos from this Stato was;" again decidedly high, the sheep were good* to prime, and the fleeces of excellent quality.* Only 582 cattle were /yarded, 120 of which, were from New Zealand and over 180 fronw Queensland. As the supply was light, competition was keen for all descriptions, and' prime bullocks, which were scarce, sold at ai; high ranw of values, nearly eoual to record! rate.?. The cows were of poor quality, butt'' the cattle from New Zealand, which were all! bullocks, were very prima, and in addition'' to being good conditioned they were dehorned and free from firebrands on the hide,, thus, leaving' a hide of good value to buyers and to the fanning industry.
