THE AMOUNT TO BE VOTED. [BY TELEGRAPH. — SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.]
Wr.i.Li toton, Monday. The chief concern of the Northern members in the Public Works Statement, which comes down to-morrow night, is of course tho treatment which the North Island Main Trunk line will receive at the hands of the Government. A prominent member thinks the vote will be from £200.000 to £250,000, while one of the Government supporters from Auckland puts it down at £160.000 to £180.000. 1 have it from a verv good authority that it will he over £200,000, probably" £2so,ooo.
