bv Telegraph.—Press Association.—right. (Received September 14. *45 p.in )
Ottawa, September 13. A laaqz crowd took farewell of Sir E. Barton, who, in replying to the. Board of Trade's address, presented by the president, Mr. Coates. -formerly an Australian, said he hoped Canada and Australia were resolved to give to the maintenance of the power and prestige of the Empire equal and competitive assistance, not for the sake of what the illblooded would call toadyism, but for the sake of what the clean-blooded would call patriotism. (Cheers).
