THE CITY DISTRICT FOuTBALL TEAM. The present issue of the Accklaxd Vv'esklt News is a most attractive publication, remarkable for its wide range of interesting and artistic subjects. Prominently illustrated is the Pakuranga Hunt Club's point-to-point steeplechase, which was contested on Saturday last by members of the club. Competitors and .spectators assembling; at the Royal Oak Hotel, competitors being short n the course before the start for the rac«, and a group of winners in the various classes typically illustrate one of the events of the season in the hunting l world, and depict the winning lady and gentlemen riders after the finish of the race.
The presentation to .\ w Zealand's Premier by his fellow-colonist? in London is shown in a splendid. full-page picture depicting the gathering which assembled at the Hotel Cecil to do honour to our Premier in recognition of his services to the Empire throughout the late war, while St. Helens' tribute to a worthy son in shown in a photograph of the casket presented to Mr. Seddon by the residents of the Premier's birthplace. Portrait? of the Supreme Court judges of New Zealand, together with a biographical sketch of each, will be welcomed as recording the lives of men who have- risen to places of honour and responsibility in the colony, and who figure prominently in the history of New Zealand.
Selections from our prize competition photographs include typical industrial and hush scenes, unique comic studies and yachting views, which give an excellent representation of the life, industries and pastimes common to New Zealaod. Glimpses of New Zealand scenery depict various picturesque spots in different parts of the colony, and include charming river and bush scenes on the Wangamii and Wairoa rivers in the North Island and the Duller River in the South Island, together with striking and unusual pictures showing unique reflections on Mabinapua Lake in Westlan .
Numerous miscellaneous pictures, including some ancient Maori carvings recently added to the Auckland Museum collection, Bunker's Hill gold mine, Coromandel, the Wellington-Southland football match, together"' with other groups, views and portraits and an abundance of high-claw letterpress, contribute to a publication which, for general public interest, stands unrivalled in the colonies.
