NORTH SHORE CRICKET CLUB. rv; tVr""? meetin a of the North Shore Cricket Club was held last evening in tho Devonporfc Council Chambers. Mr Ernest Ford presided and there was a good attendance The annual report, read by Mr. Robert Wynyard, .stated that the total receipts for the past season had been £37 13s lift, and tho expenditure was £33 9s 7d which left the club with a small credit bali. C /',n ~ assets of the club amounted to £45 19s 4d, and the liabilities were nil. .Twenty-six matches had been played during the season by the, three grades, of which 10 had been played by the seniors and lost. The second grade played eight matches, losing seven and drawing one. The third grade played eight matches, winning six and losing two. The seniors had been unfortunate in the matter of obtaining players at the latter end of the season, but nevertheless played all their engagements. The highest batting average for the first grade was won by Mr. Barron with an average of 21.14, and the bowling by Mr. Gihnour with an average of 17.92 runs per wickot. In the second grade Mr. Swanson was tho highest scorer with 17.81, and in the bowling Mr. J. M. Burgess with 13.20 runs per wicket. In the third grade Mr. H. Pitts was the highest with an average of 26, and in the howling Mr. Grace with 4.13 runs per wicket. The, trophies presented for competition by several supporters of the club were Won as follows:— Rang! Ford's bat for bowling, Mr. Gilmour; Mr. Gilfillan's bat for batting, Mr. Barron; Mr. Gilfillaus glove 3 for batting (second grade), Mr. Swansou. Feeling reference was made to the death of Mr. C. Denby, who had been a most enthusiastic member of the club.

It was stated that it would bo necessary during the coming season to procure new material at a enst of about £10, and with that object it was a recommendation to the incoming committee that a levy on all members be made in order to meet the cost, as by the payment of fees, etc., during the past season the balance-sheet was made small and inadequate, and the club had no other source of revenue except from members' subscriptions. Practice had been well attended during the season, and the three members recording the greatest number of attendances wore Messrs. H. Pitts (66). W. Bush (601. and W. MoKenzie (51), Mr. Pitts therefore winning Mr. Eyre's trophy. Thanks wore accorded to officers and supporters of tho club. The report was adopted. A number of new members were elected. , Mr. E. W. Alison was added to the list of vice-presidents of the club. Mr. R. H. Fronde was elected hon. secretary, and Mr, T. R. Herd hon. treasurer. Mr. E. lord was re-elected auditor, and Messrs. W. X. Wynyard and R H. Froude delegates to the Cricket Association. FOOTBALL. FOOTBALL AT OOROMANDEU fllT TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OoEOMANDEL, Thursday. A football match between the Lyttclton juniors and ,the Star IX was played to-day, and won by the visitors, who romped over the local men, by 17 to three. Tries were scored by Watson, Rich, Oliver, and Loader (two), one being converted by Berry. The Star s only score was a penalty goal by Way. Die game was not a good exhibition of football.
