GENERAL TELEGRAPHIC NEWS.

[BY TELEGKATO. —PRESS ASSOCIATION-.] Wellington, Thursday. The City Licensing Committee having postponed action with respect, to several hotels which the police, and city engineer think should be rebuilt, the Health Department is now having reports made on the condition of the hotels with a view to action. A specimen from the body of a man at Lytteltou who was suspected to be suffering from plague was examined at the head office of the Health Department, but gave a. negative result, showing no evidence of plague. This, however, is not conclusive evidence that the case is something other than plague. Every school in the Wellington district has now been fumigated by direction of the Health Department. There is still a great deal of measles and scarlatina among the children. _^_^„_^_ - ___
