The New Zealand Institute now lias a membership of 689, of which number Auckland heads the list with 162, Wellington comes next with 144, Otago third with 117, and Canterbury fourth with 69. It. cost £452 to print the last volume of transactions. The receipts for the year, including the balance, amounted to £1214. and there is now a balance of £403 in hand.
