FEDERATED COUNCIL OF BUILDERS.

THE animal session of the derated Coum cil of Builders and Contractors was con' tinued yesterday in the Victoria Arcade, Mr, H. Pearce, president, in the <%air. Ther*' was a full attendance of delegates. !

Conditions of Contract: The conditions of contract existing in the various centres wer«i compared, and certain amendments arid alterations made with the object of drafting:! a set of conditions to be made applicable tot the whole of the colony. These will he he-, fore the next annual conference for confir-j mation, the Excutive Committee to prepar* the conditions in the interim. The question! of drawing up a form of contract to comply | with the conditions was referred to the exe*! cutive to deal with.

Accounts: The balance-sheet, as read bythe secretary (Mr. Greig), showed a credit, balance of £11 9s. This was adopted.

Honorarium: The chairman referred to: the splendid work that had been done by the' lion, secretary, Mr. Greig, and, on the moHon of Mr. Holland, it was decided to Vot#i him a bonus of £5 as a small recognition. Election of Officers: The election of of* fleers for the ensuing year resulted as under:—President, Mr. J. J. Holland (Auckland) ; vice-president, Mr. E. C. George! (Dunedin); lion, secretary. Mr. Greigr' (Christchurch); trustee, Mr. Pearce (Christ-* ■ church): committee, Messrs. W. 1;. Hutchison (Auckland) and S. I, Clarke (Auckland).

Outside Builders: The chairman strongly urged upon the various branches to persuade all builders not members of their as* sociations to join, as to have men standing out would always be a source of danger, inasmuch as it gave architects a sort of lever to work against the associations. Next Conference: On the motion of Mr. Luim, it was decided that the next annual meeting of the conference should be held, at Dunedin. The convening of the meeting was left in the hands of the executive.

Levy: The levy on members for the maintenance of the council was raised from Is to 2s per head. Thanks: The Southern delegates unanimously adopted ,i motion of thanks to the Auckland Association for the maimer in which they had been received and entertained during their stay in Auckland. Mr. Holland then moved a vote of thanks to th» retiring president, and secretary for their services during the past year, and on this having been carried, and thanks returned, the conference terminated.
