FRICTION BETWEEN LOCAL BODIES.

[BY TELEGRAPH. -—press ASSOCIATION.] Dunedix, Wednesday. There is friction between the Drainage Board and Harbour Board re the discharge of sewerage into the harbour. The Harbour Board is about to reclaim a further portion of the foreshore, and has requested the Drainage Board to extend one of its sewers through the part to be reclaimed. As, under the permanent scheme, only storm water will he discharged, tne Drainage Board does not require such en extension of the sewer, and at any rate considers that the Harbour Board should extend the sewer through reclaimed ground. The Drainage Board last night decided" to instruct their solicitor to take proceedings, if necessary, to ascertain the liability of the respective boards.
