THE COLONIAL DAY.
This colony in particular, as all the colonies in, general, has every reason to be satisfied with 1 the success attending the reception accorded by His Majesty to the colonia 1 Premiers and tlie colonial troops. It was practically the Colonial Day. The King was evidently in renewed health and strength, showing that his recovery has been real and not assumed for the Coronation. He was gratified at the Maori gifts and spoke royally, and well to the colonial troops. So much for this memorable day, but there was more. The-- Prince of - Wales assured our Premier that " New Zealand was the most unique and interesting of the colonies, and he was always talking about it." This result of the Royal Tour is not only very gratifying, but is ] likely to be > extremely advantageous to the colony. The Prince in "always ' talking" of the beauties of our h islands - and the wonders of Rotorua must' inspire many who have both time and money at their disposal with the determination to see our Wonderland for themselves. As they can now reach us in a short month by luxurious steamers and railways, thanks , ;to the 'Frisco mail, ' we are certain to receive many tourists from this influential . commendation. ■ And it should strengthen our confidence in the value of our Hot Lakes and encourage; us to make Rotorua so attractive . that every visitor will recommend it as heartily as does His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales.
