Buckeridge, .LP 's, four young men were charged with feloniously killing and stealing one steer, valued at £3 IDs, the property of Mi. 1. Morgan, of Opajrau. They had gone out. pig-hunting, and failing to get pork had killed the animal, i 1 taking the hindquarters, and leaving the rest, after destroying the marks by which it could be known. They all pleaded guilty, and . were fined £2 .each, .and .were required to pay £15 16s costs, including the value of the beast, or in default two months', imprisonment with hard labour" The fines and costs L : I were paid. Constable McPheq prosecuted. Another youth was also fined £2 for being accessory after the fact, and refusing to give the? police information, and- trying to put them off the scent.—Own Correspondent.]
