Wellington, Thursday. Dr. Newman, who was formerly in Parliament, for several years, is being asked to contest the new electorate of Newtown (Wellington).

Mr. Geo. Fowlds, M.H.R., has had numerous inquiries by letters and telegrams from electors in Grey Lynn and Auckland, asking his intentions regarding the coming general election. I am authorised by him to state that it his intention to offer himself as a candidate for the Grey Lynn seat.

Mr. Hector Norman Simson announces that he will be a candidate for the City at the next general election for the House of Representatives. '
