ORGANISER OP THE GREAT COM-
BINE. Venice, June 7.The New York World correspondent met J. Pierponfc Morgan, on the latter's arrival here, but when he attempted'; to speak with him one of his party intervened abruptly, saying:—Mr. Morgan can see no one on business of any kind. He lias been ordered to take complete rest from brain work. He has . not come here for any . business purpose,' but solely for v a vacation." <" V Sir. Morgan looked unwell. He wore an overcoat, although the weather was hot, and went straight aboard his steam yacht CorSair in a launch which was awaiting him at the railway station steps. The World correspondent afterward spoke to an official here who alone has knowledge of Mr. Morgan's condition and plans, and who said:-—"Mr. Morgan has gone for a fortnight's cruise to Athens, because lie Is almost worn out from' the strain. He is not broken down, but his condition gives cause for anxiety. He is doing no business. ■< All letters will be held for him here until he returns from Athens. If the heat proves too great he may return immediately. Otherwise.'. his plan is to arrive here about the middle of June and go to London for the.Coronation. :■,> "He is in a highly.. nervous condition, and has placed himself unreservedly in the hands, of a doctor. He saw no one here except Colonel Thompson, of the steam yacht Torfrida, whom he went to thank last evening for . giving him his pilot. United States Consul Johnson sent a gondola with the most famous.Venetian singers to serenade him when he was aboard ,Mr. Thompson's yacht, but word was .sent that Mr. : Morgan felt so exhausted he could not enjoy the music and needed absolute quiet. " His object is to get away • from everybody. He will cruise along the Dalmatian coast and go thence to the Piraeus. "He saw no one here on business."
