RETURNING TROOPERS.
By Telegraph.—Press Association.— Copyright. Sydney, June 25. The s.s. Australasian has arrived with another detachment of returned troopers, including a number of New Zealanders. [BY TELEGRAM.PRESS ASSOCIATION'.] Wellington, Thursday. The troopship Manila with the Seventh Contingent, arrived in the harbour at halfpast one a.m. yesterday. The ailments of the men prove to be nothing more' serious than a few cases of influenza, and the men were allowed on shore after the vessel had been fumigated. The officers and men were entertained at luncheon. The Governor and Sir J. U Ward were present. The speeches, were very brief, on account of the news concerning the King.
NINTH CONTINGENT. [BY telegraph.—press association-.] Wellington, Thursday. A private cable message has been received stating that the Ninth Contingent are at .Capetown, and are returning. All are well.
