Lv couseqiience of the large number of dogs entered from the South the North New Zealand Coursing Association decided to pro-' ceed with flieir Coronation meeting, and 1 • a large mimlwr of persons journeyed to Chevalier Park yesterday afternoon to witness . the sport, despite the fact that the weather was uninv«.ing. The first round of the Chevalier Maiden Stakes was decided only, and the spectators ware treated to some clever, courses, .. the hares running strongly and cleverly, with a couple of exceptions, and the dogs working keenly. ' Mr. T. Coombsacted as judge, and gave every satisfaction, > and the slipping was $n the hands of Mr. L. Brennan. Appended are the results: — CHEVALIER MAIDEN STAKES.
