The current issue of the Auckland Wkeki-t NEWS (the 'Frisco mail number) - covers events of prominent public interest, and is a most attractive publication for posting abroad to friend*. Illustrations relat- , ing to the Coronation of King Edward VII. will be found most appropriate, and deal' with many details connected with the imposing ceremony. The last service in Westminster Abbey before the Coronation, Wellington' Arch, through which the Royal procession will pass on Coronation Day, the King and Queen receiving guests at Buckingham Palace, the crown used at ancient coronations, form a striking and instructive . series connected with the great event. The recent floods in the Manawatu district, which covered so wide an area and caused much, loss to settlers, are graphically depicted. A series of illustrations show the great Moods in Palmerston North, town and suburbs. Besides the dangers experienced by the .settlers, whose houses were surrounded by water, necessitating rescues by boats, ami other adventures, some idea is given of the damage to property and the loss of slock. Selections from our prize photographic Competitions include industrial views, farm, and station scenes, New Zealand figure studies, ayd many charming views of our beautiful inland and coastal scenery. Another important subject illustrated in this week's issue is the opening of the Makohine viaduct, which is covered by a complete series of photographs, depicting all the events connected with the function from the arrival of the Ministerial party at Makohiue to the. muniug of the first train over the structure.

Waiiare on her Coronation excursion to Fiji, the peace celebrations in Nelson, the lauding of the ears for Auckland's electric trams, and numerous other views and portraits, together with abundance of high-class letterpress, contribute to form a number invaluable for send* ing abroad by the outgoing 'Frisco mail.
