Dr. Emily Siedeberg, the only female physician in Dunedin, was thrown out of a trap yesterday, and had three of her ribs broken*, also contusions about the body, but otherWise her injuries were more painful than serious. n . ~ Dr/NEDIH, Sunday, eter Murray, aged 66 years, drove into a' bakers cart on Tuesday night, at Hooper's Inlet, Otftgo Peninsula, and fractured several ribs Inflammation set in and he died yesterday. At the inquest the jury returned a verdict that death was caused bv Murray being thrown from his cart owing'to a collision with that of Samuel, a baker, but that' no blame is attributable to Samuel. InveBCARGILI,, Sunday. In the divorce case. Marjory M. Sutherland v. Kobert Sutherland, the wife's petition on. the ground of adultery, Mr. Justice Denniston refused to grant a decree. The parties (t.ie petitioner being 15 years of age) were married a week before last Christmas, to hide the supposed shame of petitioner, who however, was not enciente. His Honor said he was not going to grant a divorce on evideuce like that submitted. The girl had married solely to avoid supposed disgracethe man to save the cost of keeping a child, and now they wanted to use the machinery of the Court to get a divorce. If adulterywas committed at all it was probably to make evidence for this case. The machinery of the Court was used enough for this purpose, but this was going too far. The case was dismissed. Haweba, Saturday. Arthur Keith and William Harveycharged with robbery with violence, were today committed for trial. _. ' Wellington, Saturday. he Minister for Lands left by this morn* iug's early train in order to visit the Momohaki State farm, at Waugauui. Napier, Saturday, Considerable interest was manifested to* day in the election of a candidate for the -\»J Harbour Board. The. poll was a heavy V;?; one, anil resulted, in the return of Mr. John McVay, who has occupied a seat V' on the Board for several years, and wh* defeated his opponent, Mr. John Hind- , marsh, juu., by 106 votes.
