PAKURANGA HUNT CLUB.
About 30 members of the Pakuranga Hunt ub journeyed to Pukekohe oh Saturday Kst, at the invitation of farmers of that (Kstrict. The members' horses were entrained at Remuera whilst several followers (Bnbarked at Otahuhu, including the huntsspan (Mr. J. Selby) and his whip. On arttVal at their destination the party accepted lj»e invitation of the Pukekohe residents to luncheon, and were hospitably entertained. The pack, was afterwards thrown off, and an enjoyable day followed, fully 200 of the residents joining in the sport, which they evidently keenly appreciated. The scent was good, and the pack worked well, three hares being killed after giving the following enjoyable runs over post-and-rail and wire fences, and ditches, on the lands of the various farmers. Fortunately there were no mishaps. The visitors left for Auckland in the evening, amidst the hearty cheers of their hosts, arriving in town about eight o'clock. Amongst those who made the journey were Mesdames O'Rorke, Bloonifield (on M'Liss), Kelly (Steeltrap), Moody (Mike), Misses Babington, B. Gorrie (.Timmy), G. Gorrie (Starlight), and Messrs. E. D. O'Rorke (Briton), Adams (Skipper), Purchas (Neck-or-Nothing), Kinloch (2), Ben Myers (Muriwai), Lewis (Lepperton), Meredith, W. D. Pittar (Juno), H. Pitter (Riot), Neal, Gorrie, and Crawford. Prominent among the farmers who followed. were Messrs. J. Roulston, J. T. Rutherford, and Barriball. Tho meet will be at Penrose Junction on Wednesday next.
