CITY HALL SERVICE.
• The address at last night's City Hall service was given by the Rev. J. Pattison, of Queensland,.from Revelation iii. 20. Miss Alice Rimmer sang two sacred solos. .-. The attendance.' was good. . - ';;'. ST. MATHIAS' CHURCH, PANMURE. The annual meeting was held on May 21. The attendance, was fair considering the' weather. The receipts for the year past amounted to £129 3s lOd, including balance from year previous, £1.1- 13s Id. Expends ture £113 Es, leaving balance to credit, £15 15s lCd. The report stated that the Rev., S. Ingle had had the charge of the parish during the absence of the vicar. The Sun-day-school had prospered under the superintendence of Mr. F. C. Long. One scholar, had obtained a prize for "Repetition" from the Sunday-school Board. The vicar ; reappointed Mr. A. S. Thompson minister's warden, and Mr. W. Brown, sen., was- reelected people's warden. Messrs. Brown, jun., J. Smith, Thos. Kay, Win. Kay, T. L. May, J. Bryce, and John Kay, were elected vestrymen, and Messrs. T. L. May and A. Loomb auditors. The incoming vestry was requested to consider the question of (1) new lamps for the church, and (2) painting the church on the outside. On the motion of the vicar, Canon Gould, thanks were given to Mrs. Murray for her kind assistance as treasurer. Thanks were also accorded to the other church workers, e.g., Sunday-school \ teachers and choir. •
During January and February the number of cattle exported from Great Britain was 135, as against sixty-eight last year, the value having been £4813, against £2861; sheep and lambs numbered 121, against 226 the value having been £1778, against £2882. Of pigs thirteen were exported, against nine- *£??.' L. value having been £251, against £174. The number of animals of other kinds exported was 14,824, against 18,092, the value having been £7985, against £6965.
