OHINEWAI FLAG STATION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Wholesale thieving is going on at the Ohinewai flag station. Consignees are having their goods looted at all times; boxes are broken open, and the contents taken. I had 10 tins of beef taken out of a two-do>:en ease last week. Other settlers are being treated .similarly. Sir, is it not high time that Sir Joseph Ward's promise to the Fanners' Union was fulfilled? A large number of settlors are dependent on the Ohinewai flag station as transit terminus for their supplies. A caretaker was promise* l «"ine four or five months ago, but up to the present we note no signs of the promise being fulfilled. If the railway authentic* can do nothing, surely the police ,*'>ght do something, as we understand + Vat the y hav e bf ™ made acquainted with ,;ne matters '" I,oin - — I an,, etc., ,> • .«■ H - O £ OTLD ' Olii'nevvai. .ivaikato, April 30, 1902.
