DIX'S GAIETY COMPANY. Mr. Frank M. Clark's highly successful farce, " School," which has been running at the City Hall for the past three weeks, will be presented for the last time this evening. Mr. James Harvey and Miss Madge Morris are loudly applauded for their clever and varied entertainment. Mr. Ernest Tilts, Mr. Fred. Rivenhall, Messrs. Clark and Cowan, Miss Olive Lenton, Miss Molly Bendy, Miss Beryl Gillman and the other members of the company are all warmly received. To-morrow evening there will be a change of programme, which will be made additionally interesting by the reappearance of Miss I'riscilla Verne, who has just completed a very successful season ill America. On Monday next will be seen for the first time in Now Zealand the Little Dartos, exceedingly clever young dancers who have been such a pronounced success in Australia. MOUNT ROSKILL ROAD BOARD. The annual meeting of the ratepayers of the Mount Roskill Road Board District was held last night in the district schoolroom. There was a fair attendance of members and ratepayers. Mr. Bagley (chairman of the Board) presided. The minutes of last annual meeting and balancesheet were read and confirmed. Before reading the annual report the chairman made feeling reference to the memory of two late members of the Board, Messrs. J. S. Kidd and W. J. Conelly, who had died since last annual meeting. Recognition of the sen-ices rendered by the deceased gentlemen to the district was recorded in the minutes of the meeting. The annual report dealt with the general work done in the district during the past year. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance on March 31 last of £90 Is Id. The report and balance-sheet were received as read. A report on the water supply scheme for the district was read by the chairman, who stated that the matter was in a highly satisfactory state. Since the ratepavers had empowered the Board to borrow money for the carrying out of the scheme the sum of £4000 had been raised and work started; this was within a period of seven months. The committee recommended the use of meters for the ratepayer.-, using the supply. The work in connection with the water supply is expected to be completed by December next. BAFTST UN i ON. A public meeting was held last night at the Auckland Tabernacle schoolroom, at which there was a. large attendance. The Rev. Joseph Clark presided. An interesting address was given by the Rev. R. G. Gray, who is just closing the tour upon which he has been engaged in furthering the interests of the Baptist Union of New Zealand. The address dealt with the objects and influence of the union and with its home mission work. At its conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Gray. MANGERE MONTHLY SOCIAL. The first of the monthly socials in connection with the Mangere Tennis Club was held in the Public Hall, Mangere, on April 25. Mr. J. E. Taylor, president of the club, and Mr. W. F. Massey, M.H.R., one of the vice-presidents, gave appropriate addresses during the evening. Musical selections, songs and recitations were given at intervals by Mr. J. E. and Miss E. Taylor. Mr. D. Ronnie, Mr. A. Taylor and Mr. J. O'Hara, the recitation given by the hi tnauied gentleman adding greatly to 'he amusement of the evening. Supper Was provided on a liberal scale by a comm'ttee of young ladies belonging to the club.'Dancing was kept up until one a.m. Th/ function was thoroughly successful, for/besides providing a pleasant social evening a considerable sum should accrue to the tennis club fund.
